IS HE A UNIVERSALIST?

While at Vinton in discussion with Dr. Lucas, I asked him to affirm the consequent of his doctrine; namely, that the wicked will suffer endless conscious misery. He replied that he never believed or preached it. During the discussion he contended that the conscious part of man was an immortal entity, and hence it could not die. The Dr. of course must be a Universalist, until he embraces either our position, or endless misery. M. E. CORNELL.
