“Then they that feared the Lord, spake often one to another.”
From Sister Wilcox.
DEAR BRO. WHITE: As I read the testimonies of the dear saints scattered abroad, I have a desire to add mine to the number. I feel that we are living in the last days; that soon he who shall come will come, and will not tarry. I praise the name of the Lord that I ever was permitted to see the light of God's truth. One short year ago the truth found me a professor of religion, following the world in all its forms and fashions. It is a wonder to me that God did not cast me off. Truly he is long-suffering and kind to usward, that we might repent of all our sins, and confess and forsake them while mercy lingers in the sanctuary.
The truth struck the axe at the root of the tree of my pride, and praised be the Lord, the leaves have all fallen off. O, I want to be found keeping the commandments of God, and shout victory over the beast, his image, his mark, and number of his name. It will be a glorious time for the saints when Jesus appears on the white cloud with his retinue of angels, to take his waiting people home. I want to be one of that number. Pray for me that I may strive daily to overcome, and at last stand with you on mount Zion.
Yours striving to overcome.
BETSEY WILCOX.
