Prayer.

How sweet to bow before our God, And seek protecting care, To thank him for his mercies past, In humble, fervent prayer.
In every season of distress, Or time of deep despair, How good to trust in Jesus' grace, And seek relief by prayer.
When blessings oft our pathway strew, And light our burdens are; We then should give to God the praise, By grateful, thankful prayer.
Be this the bright, the polar star, To guide us to the skies, Until we reach that world of bliss, Where prayer is changed to praise.
