Psalms cxv, 17, 18.

“THE dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence. But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and forevermore.”
Who are the “WE” that are thus distinguished from the dead, and who shall praise God forevermore? Answer. The living righteous. “For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee; they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.” Isa. xxxviii, 18, 19. See also 1 Thess. iv, 15, 17, in which Paul distinguishes the two classes as “WE” and “THEY”. J. N. A.
