A SERIOUS BLOW TO ROMANISM. — The Italian Parliament has passed a law making marriage a civil rite, and leaving the parties to seek ecclesiastical benediction at the hands of a Catholic priest or a Protestant minister, as they choose, thus stripping the Romish priests of a powerful monopoly.
