1 Chronicles 1:14

The Jebusite also, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

This verse belongs to the genealogical records in the first chapter of Chronicles. It names the Jebusite, Amorite, and Girgashite among the peoples in that chapter's account of the origin and distribution of races. That genealogy was written and preserved under the direction of the Spirit of God because accurate genealogies were necessary to the development and certainty of the gospel. Its list of names forms part of the Bible's material for studying ethnology. Its careful listing of names belongs to recordkeeping that shows God is particular. These genealogical records illustrate that a faithful record of every soul is kept in heaven.
