1 Chronicles 12:40
Moreover they that were nigh them, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on asses, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, and meat, meal, cakes of figs, and bunches of raisins, and wine, and oil, and oxen, and sheep abundantly: for there was joy in Israel.
The verse belongs to the fuller parallel account of the tribes assembling at Hebron to acknowledge David as king over all Israel. The full passage from verse 23 to verse 40 numbers 339,600 warriors who came to David at Hebron, representing all Israel in support of his rise to the throne. The men who gathered to David were loyal men of great strength, skill, and wisdom.
Those who were near, even unto Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought abundant food and supplies for David's followers as they gathered to make him king. The assembly was made an occasion for a three-day festival. The provision was accompanied by joy throughout Israel.
