David Gives Bread to the Peopleby emmanuel_higgins

1 Chronicles 16:3

And he dealt to every one of Israel, both man and woman, to every one a loaf of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine.

1 Chronicles 12 to 16 forms part of the history of David in Chronicles which supplies new and important facts left out of Samuel and Kings while taking knowledge of those earlier books for granted. Within that history the verse belongs to the parallel account of bringing the ark to Jerusalem. It describes a peace-offering kept with special rejoicing when the ark was brought into Jerusalem, with bread and sacrificial flesh shared with every man and woman of Israel. Every Israelite, man and woman alike, each received a loaf of bread and meat and wine.
