1 Chronicles 16:35

And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.

The verse is a prayer addressed to God as the source of salvation, asking Him to save, to gather His people together, and to deliver them from their enemies so that they may give thanks to His holy name and glory in His praise. It expresses trust in God as His people's strength and defender in a time of crisis, acknowledging that deliverance belongs to Him and that its proper result is grateful praise. The plea for saving, gathering, and deliverance is inseparable from thanksgiving, making gratitude and praise the appointed end of rescue from hostile powers.

This prayer for deliverance is joined to gathering for thanksgiving and praise to His name. It belongs with Judah's singers going out before the army, praising God for the promised victory over their enemies. Such praise to God strengthens hope and courage and faith.
