1 Chronicles 17:10
And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house. And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house.
The setting is the record in 1 Chronicles 17:1-12, in which David formed the desire to build a temple for God when he contrasted his own dwelling in a fine palace with the ark still resting in the Tabernacle. When he first opened that plan to Nathan, the prophet encouraged him to go forward with it. God, however, had appointed David to another work, and had chosen Solomon instead to build the temple.
