1 Chronicles 2:19

And when Azubah was dead, Caleb took unto him Ephrath, which bare him Hur.

This verse belongs to the carefully preserved genealogies in Chronicles, specifically to the genealogy and lists of Judah, the sons of Judah. These genealogies preserved proof of family descent needed after the exile to allot land to its hereditary owners and to maintain temple service through those with hereditary duties. It stands in the line of Judah, the tribe through which Christ came.

The sons of Judah lists record unknown people who lived their lives and passed away, some perhaps prosperous and some perhaps failures. The verse shows God remembers every one of them by name even though people forgot them thousands of years ago. That remembrance gives comfort when downhearted, because God does not change, so He still keeps names remembered today, safe and sure in His lists.
