1 Chronicles 2:29

And the name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail, and she bare him Ahban, and Molid.

This name of a wife and her two sons belongs to the carefully preserved genealogy of Judah, set within the long genealogical lists in the first eight chapters of Chronicles. Those lists record the names and family lines of the tribes, with particular attention to Judah and the priesthood, and they record the origins and distribution of the peoples. As part of the inspired Bible it bears the stamp of inspiration and is preserved for instruction, showing that God is particular about recording family lines.

Though inspired, such genealogies are not as interesting, instructive, or valuable as the Gospels and need not be read as often, for not every part of inspired Scripture is equal in value and not every part is equally interesting or valuable to every person. Yet they reward study of ethnology, and spiritual truths may be found along the way. The genealogy of Judah was preserved because Jesus Christ came through that tribe, from Judah and David's family.

It concerns people about whom nothing is known who lived their lives and passed away thousands of years ago, some prosperous and some failures, whom folks forgot long ago but whom God remembers every one by name and has not forgotten. The genealogies teach that a faithful record of every soul is kept in heaven. Because God is not the changing kind, He still remembers obscure and downhearted people today by name and keeps their names put away safe and sure in His lists, which gives comfort.
