1 Chronicles 21:28
At that time when David saw that the LORD had answered him in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there. At that time when David saw that the LORD had answered him in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.
The threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite where David sacrificed after the Lord answered him was the consecrated spot on Mount Moriah on which the temple was afterward built. There David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings to stay the avenging sword of the destroying angel, and God answered him by fire from heaven. The flames of that sacrifice turned aside the destroying angel's sword. The event is a fitting symbol of the Saviour's sacrifice and mediation for guilty people. That same place afterward became where the worshipers of Jehovah met their God and renewed their vows of allegiance to Him.
