1 Chronicles 25:3
Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD. Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.
Jeduthun's sons served as musicians under the hands and direction of their father Jeduthun. They prophesied with the harp, and the purpose of that prophesying was to give thanks and to praise the Lord. Their musical work was thus a skilled and organized part of worship, with each man appointed to his work.
