1 Chronicles 26:12
Among these were the divisions of the porters, even among the chief men, having wards one against another, to minister in the house of the LORD. Among these were the divisions of the porters, even among the chief men, having wards one against another, to minister in the house of the LORD.
This verse belongs to David's plans and preparation for the service of God's house, to the account of the establishment of worship under David for the temple. It describes the porters, also called gatekeepers, as organized into divisions. Those divisions included the chief men, the leaders, among them. They had assigned duties and posts, wards set one against another, to minister and serve in the house of the Lord.
