And all that Samuel the seer, and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah, had dedicated; and whosoever had dedicated any thing, it was under the hand of Shelomith, and of his brethren. The dedicated treasures included what Samuel the seer had dedicated, what Saul the son of Kish had dedicated, what Abner the son of Ner had dedicated, and what Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated. They included also whatever anyone else had dedicated. All such dedicated things were placed under the hand, that is the charge and care, of Shelomith and of his brethren. This custodianship belonged to David's carefully organized system for the work, in which responsibilities were assigned to men who were trusted and who were suited to their duties.
