David organized the management of the royal property by assigning specific men to oversee its different parts. The olive trees and the sycamore trees in the low plains were placed under Baal-hanan the Gederite, while the cellars of oil were placed under Joash. Those appointed were men fitted by experience and training for the work entrusted to them.
