David Blesses the LORD Before the Offeringsby emmanuel_higgins

1 Chronicles 29:13

Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name is David's thanksgiving in a public prayer and final address to Israel at the willing offering for the temple sanctuary. In that final address he entrusted the temple work to Solomon and urged the people to keep and seek God's commandments. The prayer was offered after the people had willingly given for the sanctuary.

The thanks and praise respond to recognizing God's greatness, rule, and power. Greatness, power, glory, victory, majesty, riches, and honor belong to him.

God's people thank him and praise his glorious name because all they have comes from him. All possessions and offerings ultimately come from God, and giving to him is returning what is already his and what he has provided. Their offerings for the temple could not earn God's favor, for God had provided the riches and by his Spirit had moved the people's hearts to give willingly, so David gave God the glory.
