1 Chronicles 6:75

And Hukok with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs:

This allocation belongs within the register of the Levites' towns together with their surrounding suburbs or settlements. That register itself belongs to the lists and genealogies of the various tribes set out in the first nine chapters of Chronicles, which are in the character of minutes of events, lists of names, and the like. Compared with Kings, those genealogical records devote much more attention to the house of Judah and to the priesthood.

Those genealogical records furnished the legal proof of hereditary descent required for allotting land and maintaining temple service after the exile. The genealogies and records in Chronicles preserve the identity and integrity of Israel's tribes. The long genealogical and Levitical lists show by their recorded names that God remembers each person, even those long forgotten by other people.
