1 Chronicles 6:80 belongs to the record of the Levite cities, naming Ramoth in Gilead and Mahanaim, with their surrounding suburbs, among the towns allotted from Gad. It stands within the careful record of Israel's tribes and their inheritances.
As one verse in the long lists of names in Chronicles, it brings comfort, for those lists show that God remembers each person by name even when people have long forgotten them.
