1 Chronicles 7:10

The sons also of Jediael; Bilhan: and the sons of Bilhan; Jeush, and Benjamin, and Ehud, and Chenaanah, and Zethan, and Tharshish, and Ahishahar.

The verse stands within the extended record of names running through 1 Chronicles 4-19. That whole section is largely concerned with chronology. It preserves the records of God's people and maintains the distinct integrity of the tribes.

Though it is a list of names that is little understood and seems to have little value for private devotion or family worship, it is fully inspired Scripture. Not all Scripture is equally interesting and valuable to all persons under all circumstances. The unlearned find spiritual nourishment elsewhere while scholars are attracted by deep things such as this. God made the Bible for people of all classes and not for one class only, recording in genealogies such as this the origin and distribution of races for those who would study peoples, and scattering pearls of spiritual truth along the way so that many who seek only human knowledge find what is divine.
