1 Chronicles 7:2

And the sons of Tola; Uzzi, and Rephaiah, and Jeriel, and Jahmai, and Jibsam, and Shemuel, heads of their father’s house, to wit, of Tola: they were valiant men of might in their generations; whose number was in the days of David two and twenty thousand and six hundred.

This verse belongs to the genealogical record of Israel, forming part of the long lists of names found in the first eight chapters of 1 Chronicles. It is fully inspired, though not equally interesting and valuable to all persons and under all circumstances. It illustrates the preservation of the records of God's children and the integrity of the tribes. Such genealogical records show that God is particular and keeps a faithful record of every soul in heaven.

The verse records the origin and distribution of races for those who would study ethnology. It is one of the deep things God put in the Bible to interest scholars and to meet men of all tastes and capacities, not one class only. God scattered pearls of spiritual truth along this line of study, so that many seeking only human knowledge find what is divine.
