1 Chronicles 7:25

And Rephah was his son, also Resheph, and Telah his son, and Tahan his son,

The verse belongs to the genealogical record of Ephraim's descendants, carrying the family line forward through Rephah, Resheph, Telah, and Tahan. It stands among the lists and genealogies of the various tribes that fill the first nine chapters of Chronicles.

The book containing it forms a single book in the third part of the Jewish arrangement, called Words or Acts of Days, and was compiled by Ezra. Its Hebrew title means minutes of events, lists of names and the like, its Septuagint title means things omitted or passed over, and its common name comes from the Latin Chronica, meaning chronicle. Compared with Kings, it gives much more attention to the house of Judah and the priesthood.

Genealogies like this preserved proof of hereditary descent needed after the exile for assigning land and maintaining temple service. As one entry in those genealogies, the verse illustrates that God is particular and that a faithful record of each soul is kept in heaven.
