1 Chronicles 8:25

And Iphedeiah, and Penuel, the sons of Shashak;

And Iphedeiah, and Penuel, the sons of Shashak belongs to the long lists of names in the early chapters of Chronicles, described both as the first eight chapters and as the record in chapters 4-19. It may be difficult to understand and may seem to have little value. Its place in these lists shows that the Bible contains material that is not equally interesting or useful to every reader. It preserves the records of God's children and the integrity of the tribes.

The verse shows that the names in these records were carefully preserved. Such genealogies can engage scholars who study the origin and distribution of peoples. They can lead seekers of human knowledge to spiritual truth. The genealogies point to God's care to keep an accurate record of every soul in heaven's books.
