1 Chronicles 8:26

And Shamsherai, and Shehariah, and Athaliah,

The verse stands within the long register of names running through 1 Chronicles 4-19, with its lists of hard-to-pronounce names. It holds little particular interest in itself, and its value may not be obvious to every reader, yet it offers depth and interest for people with different knowledge and interests. The record preserves the records of God's children and the integrity of the tribes.

Its preservation shows that God is particular, who instructed His people to keep record of genealogies and moved scribes to record them. It shows that a faithful record of each soul is kept in the books of heaven.
