A Believer Weighs Meat Offered to Idolsby emmanuel_higgins

1 Corinthians 10:28

But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof:

In diet reform the verse calls for real common sense that is studied broadly and deeply. It forbids criticizing others whose practice is not in harmony in all things, because it is impossible to make an unvarying rule to regulate everyone's habits and no one is a criterion for all. Not all can eat the same things, since foods that are palatable and wholesome to one person may be distasteful and even harmful to another. Thus some cannot use milk while others thrive on it, some cannot digest peas and beans while others find them wholesome, and coarser grain preparations are good food for some while others cannot use them.
