1 Corinthians 15:27
For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
The chapter in which this declaration stands makes the resurrection a central doctrine of Christianity. It sets forth the resurrection as the future hope appointed to comfort believers, not the teaching that the righteous enter upon their full glory at death. The apostles repeatedly pressed that hope upon the church as a motive to diligence, obedience, and cheerfulness. Later preaching has neglected this apostolic emphasis.
