1 Corinthians 16:3
And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem. And when I come, whomsoever ye shall approve by your letters, them will I send to bring your liberality unto Jerusalem.
The Corinthian liberality was to be taken to Jerusalem by persons whom the believers at Corinth approved by their letters. Paul arranged for delegates chosen in this way by the churches to travel with him as joint trustees of the contribution. This arrangement guarded against suspicion in the handling of the funds.
The collections were gathered by the other churches for the poor believers in Judea. They were to be brought to the church at Jerusalem to relieve their need. In this the Gentile churches fulfilled the commitment to remember the poor. Their gifts were generous, given even out of poverty, and expressed their love for the Jewish believers and their desire for unity with them. They would strengthen unity between Jewish and Gentile Christians.
