1 Corinthians 16:4

And if it be meet that I go also, they shall go with me.

The direction concerns the delivery of the collection gathered for the poor believers in Judea, particularly those in Jerusalem. It lays down the condition that if it was fitting and appropriate for Paul himself to travel with the contribution, the representatives carrying it would go with him. Those church-appointed delegates were to accompany him as joint trustees of the funds, an arrangement that provided safeguards against suspicion. In this way the plan displayed the care of the Gentile churches for the believers in Jerusalem. The visit bearing the aid was also intended to strengthen unity between Jewish and Gentile believers.
