1 John 5:18

Those born of God are given assurance that the wicked one does not touch them. This safety is not uncertain, for God's sure promises stand behind it and guard believers from the evil one. Those promises are found in His Word, and they can be trusted with full confidence.
The protection is experienced by remaining in the path of obedience and staying close to Christ. Kept there, believers cannot be taken from the Saviour's hands, and the wicked one cannot touch them. Obedience to God's commandments is the way love for Christ is shown, and it is the way safety from Satan's temptations is found.
