1 Kings 1:26
But me, even me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thy servant Solomon, hath he not called. But me, even me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thy servant Solomon, hath he not called.
Adonijah made a feast and gathering to proclaim himself king, and he did not invite Nathan the prophet, Zadok the priest, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Solomon. The deliberate leaving out of these men exposed his move as a conspiracy against Solomon, whom God had appointed to succeed David as king. Nathan and the other faithful supporters who had been excluded carried word of what was happening to David so he could act.
