Queen of Sheba Speaks With King Solomonby emmanuel_higgins

1 Kings 10:2

And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.

She arrived at Jerusalem with a very large retinue, with camels bearing spices and very much gold and precious stones. She had heard of the wisdom of Solomon and had come to Jerusalem to hear it, to test it, and to seek knowledge. When she came to Solomon she communed with him openly of all that was in her heart and of the things that concerned her.

Her inquiries reached to the mysteries of nature. Solomon answered her questions, and used his knowledge of the natural world to teach her of God as Creator and Ruler over all. After hearing him she declared that the half of the greatness of his wisdom had not been told her.

The visit shows how the wisdom of Solomon and the honor of his kingdom drew seekers from other lands, and those who came to learn did not leave unsatisfied. Such visits opened the way for truth to reach people of heathen nations, and conversions followed that enlarged and strengthened the church of God.
