Hadad the Edomite fled to Egypt while still a little child, taken by certain Edomites from among his father's servants. God afterward raised him up as an adversary to trouble Solomon after Solomon's unfaithfulness. The adversaries who troubled Solomon, including Hadad, served as corrective discipline.
