1 Kings 13:31
And it came to pass, after he had buried him, that he spake to his sons, saying, When I am dead, then bury me in the sepulchre wherein the man of God is buried; lay my bones beside his bones: And it came to pass, after he had buried him, that he spake to his sons, saying, When I am dead, then bury me in the sepulchre wherein the man of God is buried; lay my bones beside his bones:
This verse stands in the account of the man of God who died after disobeying the command of the Lord. The prophet who had deceived him charged his sons that when he died they should bury him in the sepulchre where the man of God was buried, laying his own bones beside the other's bones. In this the sentence was fulfilled that the disobedient messenger's body would not come to the tomb of his fathers. His end stands as proof that disobedience to God brings swift judgment. The deceiver's desire for a shared burial did nothing to lessen the guilt of his lie and gave no virtue to him.
