1 Kings 14:24
And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel. And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
This description belongs to the reign of Rehoboam, when the land was marked by abominations like those practiced by the nations the Lord had cast out before Israel. Rehoboam had been brought up under an idolatrous mother, and that upbringing taught him to regard sin as desirable. At times he served God and prospered in doing so, yet in the end he yielded to the evil influences surrounding him.
