Jeroboam's Wife Comes to the Blind Prophet Ahijahby emmanuel_higgins

1 Kings 14:6

And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I am sent to thee with heavy tidings.

Ahijah was at Shiloh when Jeroboam's wife came in at the door. At the sound of her feet as she entered, he recognized her as Jeroboam's wife through her disguise, told her to come in, and confronted her for feigning herself to be another. He did this despite his old age and blindness, because the Lord had revealed her coming and her identity beforehand and had instructed him what to say.

He announced that he was sent to her with heavy, grave tidings, knowing she had come to hear them. Those tidings announced Jeroboam's overthrow and rejection and judgment against his house because of his iniquities. That prophecy against Jeroboam's house was fulfilled exactly, showing that God cares for and guides His aged prophets and continues to speak through them.
