Jeroboam did evil above all who were before him by going and making other gods and molten images, leading Israel into idolatry and provoking God to anger by casting Him behind his back in turning away from Him. His plans brought terrible evils, and he was accountable for the results of his course. Those who follow his example are likewise accountable for the results of their wrongdoing.
