1 Kings 15:29

And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:

Nadab, Jeroboam's son, reigned over Israel only a few months in a career of evil that was cut short. Baasha, one of his generals seeking control of the government, conspired against Nadab and killed him together with all his kindred in the line of succession, so that the house perished completely. The killing of Nadab and the rest of Jeroboam's house fulfilled the word of the Lord spoken by His servant Ahijah the Shilonite. Their destruction was Heaven's retributive judgment for Jeroboam's sins and for his leading Israel into sin through the idolatrous worship he introduced, which provoked the Lord to anger. Despite this judgment, Baasha, Elah, Zimri, and Omri continued the same evil course for nearly forty years afterward.
