1 Kings 20:26

And it came to pass at the return of the year, that Ben-hadad numbered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel.

The verse belongs to the history of the kings after Israel and Judah divided, a history that continues until the kingdom of Israel was obliterated in 721 B.C. At the return of the year, the next year after his first defeat, Ben-hadad renewed his campaign against Israel by numbering the Syrians and going up to Aphek to fight.

The account of Ben-hadad's defeat to which the verse belongs is another effort by God to win the weak Ahab. In this conflict God gave Ahab victory through a prophet's warning, showing that the victory came from Jehovah.
