1 Kings 22:20

And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.

The heavenly question about persuading Ahab belongs to the account of his campaign at Ramoth-gilead. His prophets assured him of victory in that enterprise. Micaiah alone warned to the contrary, that Israel would be scattered and that the kings should return home. Ahab went ahead despite the warning and was killed in battle, showing that the false assurances did not avert the outcome Micaiah foretold.
