1 Kings 6:2
And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits. And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits.
The house Solomon built for the Lord measured sixty cubits in length, twenty cubits in breadth, and thirty cubits in height, those dimensions belonging to the inner temple building that contained the holy place and the most holy place. After Israel settled in Canaan the temple replaced the tabernacle as the sanctuary, and though it was a permanent structure on a larger scale it preserved the tabernacle's proportions and was furnished in the same way. It was erected in faithful obedience to God's directions. It became the most magnificent building the world ever saw, unsurpassed for richness, beauty, and costly design.
Its building displayed God-given wisdom, an understanding heart, devotion, uprightness, firm principle, strict obedience, and wise management of the kingdom's important enterprises and business matters. Its greatness spread Solomon's fame among all nations. Its greatness brought him blessing and honor from God and drew people from all parts of the world to behold his power and learn from him.
