1 Kings 6:29

And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.

After Israel settled in Canaan the tabernacle was replaced by Solomon's temple, which was a permanent structure and larger in size yet preserved the same proportions and was furnished in the same manner. The carving of all the walls round about with cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, within and without, was one detail of Solomon faithfully carrying out God's directions in building the house for God.

Those carved walls belonged to the most magnificent building the world has ever seen, one that could not be excelled for richness and beauty and costly design. Solomon was the wisest king ever to sit upon a throne, having received an understanding heart from God, and he directed in every important enterprise and managed the business matters of the kingdom with the greatest wisdom. His faithful work in constructing the temple caused his fame to spread among all nations, so that many came from all parts of the world to behold his power and to be instructed.
