Solomon's Temple Seen From Above Its CourtyardBible World

1 Kings 6:3

And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits was the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; and ten cubits was the breadth thereof before the house.

The porch that stood before the temple house extended twenty cubits in length to correspond to the breadth of the house, and ten cubits in breadth out in front of the house. Those exact measurements were the faithful carrying out of God's directions in constructing the temple. The temple to which that porch belonged was the most magnificent building the world had ever seen, one that could not be excelled for richness and beauty and costly design.

It was built in devotion to God with uprightness and firm principle and strict obedience to God's commands, while every important enterprise was directed and the business matters of the kingdom were managed with the greatest wisdom from an understanding heart. That obedience brought blessing and honor from God and spread fame among the nations everywhere. The nations acknowledged and marveled at superior knowledge and wisdom and excellence of character and greatness of power, and many came from all parts of the world to behold it and to be instructed how to conduct difficult matters.
