1 Kings 7:2
He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars. He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length thereof was an hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams upon the pillars.
The building described was Solomon's house of the forest of Lebanon at Jerusalem, a great structure one hundred cubits in length, fifty cubits in breadth, and thirty cubits in height. It stood upon four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams laid upon the pillars. Its scale and its costly furnishings together made it a monument to ambitious royal display. The wealth entrusted to Solomon was thus expended on self-exaltation rather than on relieving the poor and securing lasting improvements for the benefit of the nation.
