Solomon's Temple Seen From Above Its CourtyardBible World

1 Kings 7:23

And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

The verse describes the temple's large bronze basin, known as the molten sea. It was round in form, measuring ten cubits from brim to brim across, five cubits in height, and thirty cubits in circumference. It stood upon twelve oxen of bronze. Its capacity was three thousand baths. It was provided for the priests to wash in, while the smaller lavers were for washing the offerings prepared for the burnt offering.
