1 Kings 8:2

And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

After the temple was finished, all Israel from across the kingdom assembled to Solomon at Jerusalem to dedicate the house of God. The feast in the seventh month was the Feast of Tabernacles, coming when the harvest work was finished and the next year's labor had not begun, so the people could devote themselves freely to sacred rejoicing. Many nations also came to witness the dedication, which was conducted with great splendor. At that assembly Solomon taught to tear away the superstitions about Jehovah that clouded heathen minds, that God is not like the heathen gods who are confined to temples built for them, but that the God of Israel would meet His people by His Spirit when they assembled in the house dedicated to His worship.
