1 Samuel 10:26

And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched.

After being chosen and acknowledged as king, Saul returned to his home at Gibeah. There went with him a company, a band of men whose hearts God had touched and moved. They went because they recognized God's choice of him as king and were determined and intended to support him.

Their escort affirmed the divine choice of Saul even though many Israelites opposed him. Saul did not seize the throne by force or make any effort to establish his own authority, but returned home and left the establishment of his authority to God. Instead he quietly carried on the work of a farmer at his home in Benjamin.
