1 Samuel 12:10
And they cried unto the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee. And they cried unto the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.
1 Samuel 12:10 belongs to Samuel's farewell address to Israel at the inauguration of Saul as king, delivered after Israel renewed its vows of allegiance to Saul before the Lord. In that chapter Samuel protests the people's choice of a king. The address recalls how God had delivered Israel from its enemies.
The verse shows the certainty of God's watch-care for His people. The chapter closes with an earnest call to cleave to Jehovah and fear Him only. The address bears on Samuel's faithful service as judge.
