1 Samuel 14:7
And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart. And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.
When Jonathan proposed attacking the Philistines, his armor-bearer encouraged him to carry out all that was in his heart. He pledged to go with him and to follow him in willing support of his plan. He further pledged to stand with him in loyal agreement with his purpose to make the proposed attack.
The armor-bearer was a man of faith and prayer. He shared Jonathan's trust in God. The two undertook the attack together, going forward and setting out side by side against the Philistines.
Their courage rested on trust that the Lord could save Israel. That saving trust was that He could deliver by few as well as by many. The armor-bearer's willingness to stand with Jonathan supported that trust in God's power to deliver.
God protected the two men from their enemies as they went forward. He worked through them both in their courageous trust. Through them He wrought the deliverance of Israel.
