1 Samuel 19:13
And Michal took an image, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair for his bolster, and covered it with a cloth. And Michal took an image, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair for his bolster, and covered it with a cloth.
The verse belongs to the time after David slew Goliath, when Saul kept David with him and would not allow him to return to his father's house. At that same time the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David in love as his own soul. Jonathan and David made a covenant to be united as brothers, and in token of it Jonathan gave David his robe and his garments together with his sword and his bow and his girdle. In those days David was entrusted with important responsibilities, yet he preserved his modesty and won the affection of the people and of the royal household.
